5 Tips for Setting a Springtime Table
1. One flower per vase.
A mix of seasonal flowers is beautiful, but I prefer never to mix within vases. That ensures the flowers will stand out, rather than overshadow.
2. Great Lighting - enough said.
3. Feel free to mix up plates, linens, and silverware.
When the pieces come from your own collection, it's hard to make a mistake. And I'd take a bohemian ensemble over matchy-matchy anyway.
4. Borrow from your neighbors and friends.
Because, let's be honest, you're better of borrowing Sarah's silver biscuit server than buying one yourself. Best practice to offer an invite in exchange for the loaner.
5. Serve dinner family style.
It feels less formal, and encourages good conversation between your guests.
